The Mission of Trinity Presbyterian Church is to glorify God and enjoy
Him forever.
Living by the Gospel and for the Kingdom, we seek to:
Worship the living God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
Make disciples of Jesus Christ who know and obey the Word of God;
Build a fellowship of love that cares for one another in joy and trial;
Witness in word and deed to the community, the campus and the nations.
We are a people who belong to God and to one another.
The Bible describes the church as a gathering of people who belong to God
and to one another because they believe in God's Son, Jesus Christ, as their
Savior and Lord. Therefore, we don't see our church just as a building where
people worship, or as a provider of religious services. Trinity is a gathering
of men, women and children whose identity is rooted in our belonging to
God and to one another.
We believe the Gospel is the "good news" that God has
provided for us to know Him.
The Gospel teaches us that we are more sinful than we ever dared believe,
but, at the same time, we are more loved and accepted in Christ than we
ever dared hope. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived the life of perfect
obedience that we should have lived, and then transferred the credit for
His performance to our account. He took upon Himself the record—and
therefore the punishment—for all our sin and failure. We receive this
Gospel by faith. The Gospel is both the means through which we begin the
Christian life and the means through which we continue to grow.
Our passion for God and His glory calls us to live radically different
lives.
The Gospel remakes us into a people passionate for God, a people whose lives
are radically reoriented and committed to seeking His glory. God has uniquely
called and equipped the church to demonstrate the power of the Gospel to
transform individuals and communities. We as a congregation want to be a
foretaste of the kingdom of God. Together we struggle to understand what
it means to follow Christ with the whole of our lives—in friendships,
in marriages, in families, in finances, in careers.
In light of these statements, we say that we are a people being transformed by the Gospel who are passionate for God and His glory.
Denominational Affiliation
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian
Church in America (PCA), a denomination that was created in 1973. From
its inception, the PCA has determined its purpose to be "faithful to
the Scriptures, true to the reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission."
We also hold to the Westminster
Confession of Faith and the Westminster
Larger and Shorter
Catechisms.
