Trinity Presbyterian Church | Golden Opportunities

Golden Opportunities is an arm of the Women’s Ministries that provides opportunity for service and sharing and connects the generations within the Trinity family. Events include some just for seniors and others for all ages.

While it truly doesn't happen often, there are times when older folks at TPC request help with a task-- raking leaves being the most common. Some of these older ones are simply lonely and would welcome an occasional visitor; some might need a ride to church for an evening event. The Golden Opportunities team feels that getting families and young people involved is truly a golden opportunity for loving service. We would love to see families get familiar with an older couple or single person in their geographic area who might need some occasional help or companionship. These seniors are wonderful prayer partners, too! Again, the need for specific task-oriented help is infrequent, but the benefits and blessings of getting to know (or know better) these folks are many.

We encourage older people to take the initiative, too. Our Golden Opportunities ministry was born when an older woman asked a younger one, "Would you meet me at Hot Cakes for a muffin break? I'd like to get to know you better." How flattering! A wonderful friendship, besides this ministry, grew from that suggestion.
