Presbyterian Church in the multipurpose room. Click
here for directions to the church.
How long is a morning session?
Sessions are from 10:15-11:15 am. Doors open at 10 am to allow the children
time to expend some energy and get settled.
What is the registration process?
Registration forms for the fall semester will be available July 30. Families
will be notified of a spot in mainly music as registration forms are received.
If the mainly music roster fills up we will gladly put your family on a
waiting list and will contact you when/if space becomes available. Return
here for the registration form (available July 30).
Please note: To allow for continuity during the school year, families who are registered for the fall semester will have an opportunity to pre-register for the spring semester prior to the open registration date. Once open registration begins, any remaining spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis as usual. In the future, fall registration will continue to be an open registration for ALL families and the spring registration will occur in the same manner as listed above (with a pre-registration option for families participating in the fall). Thank you for bearing with us as we work out our processes to try and accommodate as many families as possible while allowing for some consistency for participating families!
Is there a fee for mainly music?
There is a $3 fee per family per session (cash or checks accepted). A one-time
payment option is available for families who would prefer to pay for the
entire semester all at once. mainly music is a not-for-profit program. The
fees collected are put back into this mainly music to cover the costs of
the program, special celebrations and supplies. We will not allow the
fee to prohibit a family from coming.
Do you run sessions year round and what is the inclement weather policy?
For the most part we follow the Albemarle County school calendar for breaks
and also use their inclement weather closing system.

How old do my children need to be to join mainly music?
Ages birth–5 years.

This program is designed for children 0-5 years old. We ask that if older
children must attend, they sit in the back and not join the preschoolers.
How do you cope with allergies and germs?
We do our best to ensure that all snacks served at mainly music are nut
free. All adults and children are asked to use hand sanitizer twice during
each session (once prior to entering the session room and also prior to
snacktime). Although they (and you) will be missed, we ask that children
who are sick or who have had a fever in the 24 hours prior to the mainly
music morning be kept at home for that day.
Is this a Sunday school singalong?
No. The songs are a mixture of popular children's rhymes and music ("Wheels
on the Bus," "Open Shut Them," etc.). Each session may have
1-3 "God" songs.
What if my little one won't sit still?
We expect children to take up to six weeks to settle into the program. We
just ask that any “wiggle worms” are helped to stay off of the
stage and with their adult caregiver.
What is the difference between mainly music and other music and/or
