The Trinity International Ministry exists to serve. We aim to encourage and challenge our Trinity community to effectively serve internationals here in Charlottesville.
In humble obedience and reliance upon God's Spirit, we seek to help the congregation obey God's biblical mandate to love our neighbor and to build caring Christian community where the power of God's love is demonstrated through and among us. We do this by...
• Building relationships with internationals in our community through friendship and hospitality.
• Expanding the heart of our Trinity community, families, children and individuals, for the world through these relationships.
• Helping to meet the life needs of internationals through nurturing community.
Trinity works very closely with International Students Inc. (ISI) based at the University of Virginia (UVa).
DID YOU KNOW?
There are over 2,500 international students and scholars from 129 different countries at UVa.
75% of international students who come to the U.S. to study never set foot inside an American home.
Many international students return home to become top political, academic and business leaders in their home countries.
You have the opportunity to reach out to the world right here in Charlottesville.
1. Befriend internationals by becoming a friendship partner
2. Attend an International Friendship Night event organized monthly by ISI
3. Volunteer to help with providing food for international student events and practical needs like providing rides to the airport, moving furniture, and temporary storage of belongings
4. Attend our monthly prayer meetings to pray for internationals in our community (every fourth Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:15 pm at Trinity in room 250)
5. Put us in contact with internationals you meet at school or work.
