In 1995 Trinity began an outreach to an inner-city Charlottesville community through a ministry called Abundant Life. Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries (CALM) is a partnership among the residents of the Prospect Avenue neighborhood (including Blue Ridge Commons Apartments, Prospect & Orangedale Avenues, and Bailey Road), local churches and Trinity. Together, we desire to address spiritual, educational and economic needs by offering Christ-centered programs and by sharing our lives together. Almost 100 children and more than 100 volunteers and staff members are involved in weekly meetings—tutoring, mentoring, eating dinners together, learning the Bible, playing basketball, going on field trips, praying and just hanging out together.
In other areas of local outreach, Trinity supports the following ministries:
Bethany Christian Services,
a Christian adoption and family services agency (979-9631)
Bridge Ministry, serving men
making the transition from prison back into society (293-0499)
Good News Jail & Prison Ministry,
ministering to incarcerated men and women (293-6795)
LOVE Inc., serving the local
community through a network of churches (977-7777)
Pregnancy Centers of Central
Virginia, ministering to those in crisis pregnancy situations (979-8888)
