Jewels of the 17th Century Part 2

The Ordinary Christian Life

Taught by Rick Moore

In this survey course we continue to look at some of the great Christian preachers, writers, and thinkers of the 1600s; the first installment covered John Bunyan, George Herbert, Brother Lawrence, Blaise Pascal, Francois Fenelon, Madame Guyon, and a few others. This time we will look at Jeremy Taylor, Jeremiah Burroughs, Francis De Sales, John Owen, Richard Baxter, Susannah Wesley, and maybe George Fox or some others. There will be a short biographical introduction to each, and then brief excerpts from their works will be read and discussed. The purpose of the course is to introduce these inspirational writers, and to whet appetites for further devotional or instructive reading.
