As we move forward in our phased-in regathering, we want to provide details for our communion service on Sunday, June 28. As referenced in previous announcements, this communion service is one way we can safely partake in the Lord’s Supper together. Please read through this in its entirety, as there are many details included.

On Sunday, June 28, we will host three communion services at 2:00, 3:30, and 5:00 PM. To safely accommodate everyone, you will need to register online in advance. Once capacity is met, that service will be closed for registration.

At each service, you may participate in one of two ways: (1) in an outdoor service in the upper parking lot, or (2) in your car in the lower parking lot by tuning into a designated radio station. Both the outdoor and drive-in options will be happening simultaneously. All congregants, no matter how you plan on participating, are encouraged to bring your own elements. Individually wrapped elements will be available if you forget yours.

Outdoor Option
• Groups will sit 6 feet apart from each other.
• Seats will be provided and an usher will seat you upon arrival.
• All participants will be required to remain seated for the duration of the service.
• All chairs and surfaces will be sanitized between each service.
• Masks are required for the outdoor service if you are over the age of 10 and do not have a health condition that prevents you from wearing one. There will be a point where attendees are invited to prepare their communion elements and remove their masks.
• A tent will be set up, and we will try to seat as many people under it as safety guidelines permit.

Drive-In Option
• Cars will park every other spot in the lower parking lot.
• All participants are required to stay in their car for the duration of the service.
• This is an audio-only service. You will tune into the radio to hear the service.

The 5:00 PM service is family-friendly. The service format and guidelines will remain the same, but attendees should expect more children present and have an extra measure of grace.

For those who cannot safely leave their home, a ruling elder will be glad to visit your homes that day and administer the elements. All social distancing guidelines will be maintained. Please sign up here.

Registration will open on Tuesday (6/23) at 12:00 PM. At that time, you will receive an email and it will be posted to Trinity’s homepage. This registration is meant for one party or household, so multiple people who attend the service together should have only one person register for the whole group. Please use this time to review the details and think about which service you would like to attend.

We want to remind you that we are given certain freedoms in Christ, and there is not a right or wrong response to how you choose to participate. For those of you who are eager to get back to in-person worship, we gladly welcome you. For those of you who are still unsure of how to re-enter into in-person interactions, we eagerly await your return. Please extend Christian charity to those who make a different choice.

Please remember to register on Tuesday (6/23) and visit the FAQ section for more detailed information.

Together in Christ,

Jaclyn Stokes
