Our Life (Still) Together

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in the Lord who is our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1)!

These are troubling times. Each day brings news of global devastation, and we are experiencing real disruptions to our way of life here. Yet, being a follower of Jesus enables us to confront this reality with Spirit-filled confidence and creativity. We are the church, God’s people, who are engaging these changes with faith in God and out of love for others.

Although we are practicing physical distancing, we are pursuing spiritual solidarity. Jesus Himself prayed for us: “I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me” (John 17:20-21). Our heavenly Father will answer the prayer of His beloved Son. Even in the midst of physical separation, the Lord is calling us to be together in creative ways. Here are some of those ways...

Seeking and Offering Help

Many of you have expressed practical ways that the church could help you right now. You have also communicated an earnest desire to help. No matter what age (children to elderly) or stage (homebound, watching kids, living alone), we all need to give and receive love. On this linked Google Form, you will find concrete opportunities to offer and receive help. Pick one thing. Remember, we may be physically apart, but in Christ we can be spiritually together.

Something may not be on the list for this week. That’s okay. The form will undoubtedly develop over time. For now, pick one thing to express the love of Christ in a tangible way.

Sunday Worship Service

A gathered worship service may have been canceled, but worship has not and will not be canceled! This Sunday (3/22), participate in Trinity history. At 11:30 AM, for the first time ever, Trinity will have a video service online. ASL interpretation will be included in the video. You will also receive an order of worship, children’s bulletins, online giving options, and discussion questions.

You will be able to access the service from the homepage of our website, and you'll receive an email at that time with the information.

Other News

All in-person meetings and events have been moved to videoconference or canceled.

Our church office will be open if you are experiencing a crisis. There will be reduced administrative support, but someone will be here on site.

If you are receiving this email, you are currently on our list. If you have friends or family who are not, please encourage them to sign up by emailing resources@trinitycville.org so that they receive up-to-date information.

Together in the Lord,

Walter
